The four rings are the widely recognized logo of the German automotive brand. The symbolism of this emblem also carries its own message. In 1932, four independent manufacturers merged: Audi, DKW, Horch, as well as Wanderer. “Together with the NSU brand, which joined in 1969, they form the foundation of today’s company Audi AG” (Audi.pl).
In 1980, a new model was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show Audi. The car, called Quattro, was powered by a 200-hp 2.1-liter engine. This model featured permanent four-wheel drive and thus helped popularize this type of drivetrain in mass-produced cars. The same model secured victories in numerous rallies, thereby transforming the face of motorsport worldwide.
Today, this type of drivetrain is used in virtually all models from the German manufacturer. FaziCars sports car rental company can boast as many as 9 models Audi. Our customers can get behind the wheel of the following cars:

Let’s go back to 1980, when the Quattro I model was unveiled
The drivetrain in this car operated using a center differential with a lock that could be engaged, enabling, for example, driving uphill on snow. It was the Quattro I that revolutionized the use of four-wheel drive in passenger cars.
The second generation of the drivetrain (Quattro II) introduced significant changes, including the Torsen differential. The purpose of this addition was to transfer torque to the axle with better traction.
In the following years, the German manufacturer’s engineers worked to make the drivetrain better year after year. A breakthrough came in 2010 with the Quattro VI. Audi It then abandoned the Torsen system in favor of a better self-locking differential. The correct wheel geometry allowed torque to be distributed in a 40:60 ratio. These innovations could be experienced in the model Audi RS5.
2016 brought further changes, with the complete elimination of the center differential in favor of two electronic clutches. According to Audi, thanks to the electronic components, the entire mechanism responds instantly to changing weather conditions.
The history of the Quattro drivetrain is certainly worth remembering, as it had a tremendous influence on the development of passenger cars worldwide. It is worth looking back and appreciating the early days of automotive development, especially now that we are gradually moving into the era of electric vehicles.
One of the gems in our FaziCars fleet is the German manufacturer’s flagship car – Audi R8 Performance. This is the model to which we would like to dedicate our personal review.
Audi R8 Performance has been completely modernized, made even faster, and refined almost to perfection. An interesting fact worth noting is that our sports car rental company has a car that is considered the R8’s twin brother. Of course, we are referring to the Lamborghini Huracan Evo. Both cars share the same engine. Under the hood, we find a naturally aspirated V10. The engine in the Audi R8 Performance produces 620 hp and 530 Nm of torque. This result allows it to reach 100 km/h in just 3 seconds, while its top speed is as high as 331 km/h. Audi R8 also features four driving modes: comfort, auto, dynamic, and individual. The most comfortable mode changes the accelerator pedal sensitivity and transmission dynamics, allowing us to enjoy relaxed driving around town or on the highway. The complete opposite is, of course, dynamic mode, in which all of the car’s parameters are set to their highest levels. This gives us a firmer steering system and suspension, as well as the wonderful sound of the V10 engine thanks to the open exhaust flaps. Auto mode responds to your driving style and automatically adjusts the car’s parameters. Individual mode, on the other hand, allows you to customize all parameters according to your personal preferences. The interior Audi R8 Performance does not have a central screen. In line with the overall cabin layout, the car is designed around the driver. All multimedia functions are displayed on the screen behind the steering wheel. The multimedia system is highly intuitive, very clear, and offers numerous options for customizing the display and the information shown.
The exhaust and styling are topics drivers enjoy most. The most impressive aspect of the Audi R8 Performance is its response to throttle input, accompanied by the unique, aggressive sound of the V10 engine. The car draws attention with numerous black accents that perfectly complement its distinctive paintwork. Audi R8 Performance features numerous sharper, more angular lines. We can also see beautiful wheels and redesigned air intakes on the hood of the centrally mounted engine. Due to its aggressive shapes, Audi R8 closely resembles Lamborghini Huracan Evo or Ferrari F8 Tributo, which are also available at our sports car rental company.
Are you a car enthusiast, but Audi R8 Performance does not meet your expectations? We have the solution! Here are other models available for rent at FaziCars – sports car rental:
